Suzette Hall, who is the founder of Logan’s Legacy dog rescue, got a call about a gray and white pit bull wandering around a truck yard. The caller sounded really worried, so she knew it was important. She stopped everything and set out to help the poor canine. She didn’t know how sad the dog’s situation was at first.

Hall is used to rescuing dogs that end up on the streets for different reasons. Some are left behind by their owners, and some run away from home. But this time, she found a very sad dog who was feeling something unimaginable. When she arrived, she saw the mama dog, named June, running around the dangerous truck yard and crying. June’s body showed that she had recently given birth to puppies, but the puppies were nowhere to be seen.

Hall said that she had never seen a dog so incredibly sad. The mama dog literally cried real tears. After looking everywhere in the truck yard, Suzette sadly realized that June’s puppies had died.

Suzette, who is a mother too, could understand the pain of June. She made sure June was safe and then hugged her highly to console her. “June was the saddest dog I’ve ever seen,” Suzette said. “I held her because I knew exactly how she felt.” Suzette knew that it would take time for June to feel better, but she was determined to help her heal. She took June to the vet and then shared her story to find a temporary home for her as quickly as possible.

Luckily, a woman offered to take care of June for a little while. This woman had adopted another pit bull who had also lost her puppies, so she thought she could understand and help June.

And she was absolutely right.

“June immediately connected with her new family,” Suzette said. At first, June was supposed to stay with her new family temporarily while Suzette looked for a forever home for her. But soon after arriving, June’s foster mom realized that June belonged with them forever. So, she decided to adopt her.

“Now, all June does is give kisses,” Suzette said. “She’s so happy.” With a loving sister who understood her pain, June was able to heal from her past and enjoy her new life to the fullest. “June and her sister love each other so much,” Suzette said. “They had a tough past, and now they’re looking forward to a wonderful future together.”
