Meet Kristin Salinas, a kind woman and certainly a compassionate animal lover, who became a hero when she creatively used tortillas to help the shivering canine find warmth and safety.

Kristin was on her way back home after buying groceries for her family when she stumbled upon the stray dog. The poor pup was freezing and frightened. Without hesitation, Kristin knew she had to help. However, the dog’s fear made it difficult to approach and save him. Determined to help, Kristin came up with a clever plan involving the tortillas she had just bought.

Creating a trail of tortilla slices, Kristin coaxed the cautious dog towards her car. Despite the persistent snowfall and the dog’s wariness, Kristin persisted for over 30 minutes. Her attempts paid off when the wary Labrador finally approached her car and hopped right into the back seat.

Speaking to Fox San Antonio, Kristin explained, “Dogs have no idea what’s going on, so we are trying to help them. I’m hoping that people would take the time to assist animals in need.” She revealed that she had no idea she was being filmed during this rescue. She aims to save as many animals as possible.

Kristine’s compassion didn’t stop with this rescue. She shared that she has a history of rescuing stray animals and providing them with care and support. After bringing the poor dog home, she covered him with a blanket to warm him and allowed him to rest peacefully.

Furthermore, Kristin explained that she was committed to reuniting the canine with his family. If she couldn’t do so, she will find him a loving forever home through an Animal Assistance Center. She also posted a photo of the rescued canine on the San Antonio, Texas-Lost Dogs, Cats, & Pets Facebook Page, hoping to spread the word and find his rightful owners.
