Animals can’t speak as humans, but they are truly good at expressing their feelings to the people around them. By wagging their tails, snuggling, cuddling, and making different noises, they convey their emotions. In the same narrative a homeless Pitbull greets everyone with a hopeful smile, wishing that someone will adopt him, and he will find a loving home.

In the busy streets of New York, a dog named Donnie found himself all alone in a courtyard. For two long days, he wandered around, not knowing where to go or what to do. But then, something amazing happened- he was rescued and taken to the Animal Care Center, Brooklyn. Maybe Donnie knew that he had something important to captivate everyone’s attention, despite his big size of 62 pounds. He wanted everyone to know that he is a big, cuddly and adorable dog.

When he first arrived at the ACC, Donnie was a little scared. It’s completely normal to be nervous in a new place, after all. But as time went on, he started to feel more comfortable. Now, he was happily wagging his tail and smiling at everyone who came by.

One of the people who cared for Donnie, Shah, could see how special he was becoming. Shah helps take care of dogs at the Animal Care Center and also runs an Instagram page called Boroughbred, which helps dogs find loving homes. Shah made a video about Donnie to show people just how wonderful he is and to help him find a family to love.

Shah mentioned that when he started petting Donnie’s back, he softly stood up and leaned in while thanking him with lots of kisses.

Pitbulls are often misunderstood even when they are friendly and loving. They also face difficulties in finding homes. You would be surprised to know that Pitbulls usually wait three times as long as other dogs to find a home in shelters.
Donnie is also a Pitbull, but his luck was about to change. Right now, Donnie is staying with a foster family, learning what it’s like to be part of a family. And soon, this gentle giant will finally find the perfect home that he’s been searching for.
