An Australian Man And His Dog Are rescued After Being Lost At Sea For Three Months

Going on a voyage with his dog proved to be a challenging venture for an Australian man when they got stuck in the sea for months. According to Australian Media Reports, an Australian man and his dog were found after being lost in the Pacific Ocean for more than two months. 

Sydney’s 9News Channel reported that Tim Shaddock, 51, of Sydney, left La Paz, Mexico with his dog Bella on his catamaran about three months ago. Tim and his dog were on their trip bound for French Polynesia for a month, and they encountered a storm that damaged the boat’s communication capabilities. Due to the storm, they floated in the large Pacific Ocean until a tuna trawler spotted their boat drifting in the ocean. The tuna trawler was equipped with a helicopter and was searching for tuna.

9News shared the video of their rescue and reported that it was not clear at what exact location they were found. The video shows Tim Shaddock bearded, thin, and wearing a hat with Bella, in a very poor state. Tim said that he was in very good health, but as he had been alone at the sea for a long time, therefore he was exhausted and needed rest and good food to recover. He also stated that Bella had been the vital reason for his survival as amidst all the hardships, Bella remained steadfast in the belief that help would arrive one day.

He also said that they survived by drinking rainwater and eating raw fish. They managed to avoid severe sunburn by taking shelter in the catamaran. After rescue Tim was taken to the hospital, and the Mexican doctor who is treating him said that Tim was stable and very well. However, he has weakness due to the lack of proper diet, but he will recover soon. Bella was also taken to the vet, and she is absolutely fine.
