A 22-year-old hunter caught the 19 feet long Burmese python in Florida. It was as long as an adult giraffe’s height.

The news spread quickly throughout Florida when a man nabbed a gigantic python having a record-breaking 19 feet length at the Big Cypress National Preserve. It was a Burmese Python whose length is estimated to be as long as an adult giraffe. Its weight was measured 56 kg and this extraordinary measurement of height and weight surpassed all previous records, making it the largest python ever caught in America. 

Pythons are huge slithering beasts that are known to kill their prey by constricting blood flow by coiling around it. They Squeeze the muscles of their prey and then swallow it whole.

As its name implies, Burmese pythons are native to Southeast Asia but have established a thriving population in the wilds of Florida. These constrictors are an apex predator in Florida, where they can cause risks to humans’ lives. Therefore, residents don’t need any permit to kill the pythons, and they can also take help of the professional hunters to kill them humanely.

The video shows that the python attempted to lunge at the man who caught it by the scruff of its neck. Its mouth was wide open and also tried to bite the man with its fangs, but the man held it tightly from its mouth. It even tried to coil itself around the man but had to disentangle itself when people intervened. 

Jake Waleri, who caught the python, said that after catching the snake, they took it to the Conservancy to be officially measured and documented. 

The organization had a previous record for 18 feet and 9 inches long python.

According to the Conservancy, the previous record for the longest python was 18 ft and 9 inches. They still hold the record for Florida’s heaviest Python for a 215 pound (female) that was captured in June 2022. The organization, which has been catching pythons for the last ten years, claimed that they are responsible for removing 30,000 pounds of python in Florida.
